From the Principal
Hi Everyone,
Towards 2025
In the coming weeks, I will be sharing some exciting developments for 2025 that reflect our commitment to ongoing improvement.
The first of these is the introduction of on-site before and after school care. While we’ve been grateful to Georges River Grammar for accommodating our students over the last 5 years, feedback from both students and parents has made it clear that having an on-site option is far more convenient and preferable.
We have signed a contract with a company called Extend, a reputable provider, that deliver services to many faith based schools, starting next year at HPCS. Like many schools, this service will be run by an external provider rather than by the school itself and they will follow their own employment, guidelines and processes. However, the school spent quite a bit of time looking for the right option and I’m confident that this company will be able to provide the school with an excellent out of hours option.
In the next week or so, we will be sending out some information for current OOSH families, I will hopefully have a flyer in next week’s newsletter as well for anyone else who might be interested.
World Teachers Day:
Today, on World Teachers’ Day, we celebrate the dedicated and compassionate educators at our school who truly embody what it means to be a teacher. Here, our teachers don’t just instruct—they care deeply for each child, seeing every student as an individual with unique gifts and needs. Their commitment goes beyond the classroom as they invest in each student’s growth, faith, and personal journey.
We received so many beautiful notes and gifts from parents today, really thank you so much!
Congratulations:
A huge congratulations to the Hackathorn family, Stephanie, Greg, Ava (Y2) and Raegan (KG); On the birth of their son and brother Levi Hackathorn, we are so thrilled for you, congratulations.

Kindergarten Swimming.
We started our annual 5 week swimming lessons for Kindergarten this. These lessons are part of their Sport and PE Program. Our Kindies visited Blue Water Swim School this week. There were heaps of excitement involved from getting on the bus to participating in the swimming lessons. Thank you to Mrs Stevens and Miss Kinnear, as well as all the staff that helped them, for accompanying our beautiful students.
Here are some of the photos:
Mosquitos
Unfortunately, the mosquitos seem to be popping up and being an irritant around the K-2 block in particular. We have installed a bunch of mosquito zappers inside the building. However, it would be appreciated if you could apply some rid or something at the start of the day to ensure that students don’t get bitten.
