History

For over 40 years HopePoint Christian School has been partnering with parents who desire their children to receive an education based on Christian principles in an atmosphere of love and encouragement.

The school started in 1980 with fewer than 15 students as a vision of the pastors of Calvary Chapel Greenacre. In less than a decade the school had outgrown the facilities it shared with the church on Waterloo Road, Greenacre and a new property sought to house the church, school and associated pre-school.

In 1990 the school moved to its present location in Georges Hall. Our new home was a heritage listed property which boasts a historically significant house called “The Homestead”, surrounded by 2 hectares of beautiful shaded grounds which are perfect for our students to play in.

At that time the classes were housed in a single building which had been extensively modified before our occupation. Over the ensuing years a number of more spacious classrooms and a gymnasium were built which has enabled us to accommodate our increasing school population, now standing at around 150 students.

A name change in 2012 to HopePoint Christian School reflected the vision of the Church Leadership, with whom we share a close relationship, that our school would continue to offer an excellent education through which our students and their families would know the hope that comes from a true relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ.
