Term 3, Week 9

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

As we reach the end of another term, I’d like to extend my warmest wishes to you and your family for a restful and enjoyable holiday break. I hope many of you have the chance to take some well-deserved time off to recharge together as a family.

This term has been an incredibly full one, with so much happening across the school. I’ve noticed how hard our students have worked both in and out of the classroom, and I’m sure many are feeling the effects of their efforts as we wind down this week. I’m truly proud of each of them. At the end of every term, I’m reminded that growth looks different for every child, and that’s something worth celebrating!

As we head into this two-week break, I wanted to share a brief reflection. I’ve been reading from the book of Isaiah recently, and this passage has resonated deeply with me:

“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”

It’s so easy for us to dwell on how things used to be, whether they were wonderful or challenging. Some of us may be walking through tough seasons right now—whether it’s the pressures of rising costs, relationship strains, or other personal hardships. Yet, we serve a God of renewal, a God who makes a way where there seems to be none. He brings streams to the wasteland, life to the dry places. I wonder, what are the wildernesses or wastelands in our lives today? Perhaps it’s the constant busyness, feelings of discouragement, financial strains, or other personal or family challenges that we face.

My prayer for our school community is that you would be uplifted and encouraged in whatever you are carrying. Ask God to make a way where it feels impossible, to bring hope and restoration where it’s needed most.

May the Lord bless you and keep you safe during the upcoming break. I look forward to welcoming you back on October 14th.

My door is always open,

Joe Britton
