From the Principal
Dear Friends,
Happy Easter!
Yesterday was a beautiful day spent with our students at the Easter Chapel and hat parade. It was a joyous occasion, celebrating the essence of Easter and the profound significance of what The Lord has done for us.
Easter is not only a historical event but also a timeless one. Just as Christ resurrected in the past, He continues to bring renewal and transformation to our lives, circumstances, and situations today.
This Easter, my heartfelt prayer is for each of you to experience the deep joy and goodness of God. In the resurrection, we find hope, knowing that death has been overcome.
For those of you who may be feeling weary, discouraged, or overwhelmed by life’s challenges, I want to remind you of the power of the Cross and the grace of Jesus. May this Easter be a time of renewal and replenishment for you, not merely through Easter Eggs or time off, but through the profound and life-changing power of Jesus’s sacrifice.
Like many of you, I’ve experienced the ups and downs of life. Yet, every Easter, I intentionally lay aside the burdens of the world and turn to the cross for solace and strength. Just as Christ emerged from the tomb, we too find hope and renewal in His resurrection.
As you gather with your loved ones this weekend, my prayer is for God’s abundant goodness to surround you and your family.
Regarding our Easter Hat Parade, it was truly remarkable. I dare say, the creativity and quality of hats at HopePoint Christian School are the best in the world. And I really mean that. Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to everyone for making it such a delightful and memorable event.
We’ll be sharing all the fantastic photos in next week’s newsletter.
My door is always open,
Joe Britton

Easter Hot Cross Buns.
Ingredients
- 1 tbs dry yeast
- 1/4 cup caster sugar
- 1 cup milk (warmed)
- 4 cup plain flour
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp allspice
- 60 g butter
- 1/2 cup currants
- 1/2 cup sultanas
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 egg (lightly beaten)
- 1 tbs apricot jam
Flour Paste
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1 tbs caster sugar
- 1/3 cup water
Method
- 1 Place yeast, sugar and milk in a small bowl, whisk until yeast dissolves. Cover with plastic wrap, stand in a warm place for 10 minutes or until mixture is frothy. Sift flour, cinnamon and all spices into a large bowl and rub in butter. Stir in yeast mixture, currants, sultanas, egg and water. Cover with plastic wrap and stand in a warm place for 1 hour or until mixture has doubled in size.
- 2 Grease a deep 23cm square tin with butter. Turn dough onto a floured surface (let the kids help you punch the air out) and knead for 5 minutes. Divide dough into 16 pieces, form into balls and place in the tin. Stand in warm place (see Notes) for 20 minutes or until dough has doubled in size.
- 3 Preheat oven to 180°C. To prepare flour paste, combine flour and sugar in a bowl; gradually blend in enough water to form a thickish smooth paste. Spoon paste into a piping bag with a small plain tube or use a snap lock bag and cut off a tiny corner. Pipe crosses onto buns—four long lines vertically and then horizontally across each row of buns.
- 4 Bake for 10 minutes then reduce heat to 160°C for about 20 minutes. Turn onto a wire rack and brush with warm jam (or not if you don’t like sticky buns).
- 5 Serve as soon as they are cold enough to touch, plain or with butter.
Take a photo of you preparing the hot cross buns for Easter and send them to us, so we can publish them in next week’s newsletter.

Therefore the school has arranged a Online Safety Parent session after Chapel.
We have booked a Year 5 and 6 session that will take place after the parent’s presentation.
