Term 3, Week 4

From the Principal

Dear Parents,

I hope you are well. I’ve been speaking with students this week about the importance of always using kind words to each other. It is so important!

Words have an incredible power to shape our relationships. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.” I spoke at assembly to the students that words are always a choice and we are known by our choices. We always have the power to choose encouragement over insult, choosing kindness over harshness.

Modeling kind speech at home is crucial, especially for children. They learn from what they see and hear, often mimicking the language and tone used by their parents and caregivers. Ephesians 4:29 encourages us, “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” By speaking kindly, we teach our children to do the same, instilling in them the importance of compassion, respect, and love. Colossians 3:12-14 calls us to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. As we interact with our family members, we must strive to embody these values, not just in our actions, but in our words.
